The Nord Stream pipeline is an offshore gas pipeline, consisting of two strands of each 1,224-kilometer line on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The route runs from the Bay of Portovaya near Vyborg/Russia up to the Baltic Sea to Lubmin near Greifswald/Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and connects the European Union directly to some of the largest natural gas reserves in the world in Russia. | |
